Abstract

Regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals operate under stringent pricing regulations, requiring organizations to balance profitability with fairness while ensuring compliance with complex legal and regulatory frameworks. This paper presents how advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, specifically OpenAI's GPT-4 and SAP's Enterprise Technology Platform, including the SAP Joule AI copilot, can support the development of fair, transparent, and compliant pricing frameworks. The paper explains the technical roles of GPT-4 and SAP Joule, illustrating how these systems process large volumes of structured and unstructured data to assist in pricing decisions while integrating securely into enterprise workflows.

Real-world use cases from the United States and global markets demonstrate how these AI-powered solutions enable value-based pricing, automate regulatory policy adherence, and improve decision-making efficiency. The paper also examines key challenges, including algorithmic bias, explainability, regulatory oversight, and governance requirements. It concludes that integrating large language models with enterprise AI platforms creates a transparent, traceable, and auditable pricing process, making it well suited for highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
